Internships

Del Amo Construction's rotational summer internship provides you with experiences both in the office and on the jobsite, allowing you to maximize your exposure to the construction industry and its career paths.

 

We are currently seeking students who are passionate about pursuing a career in construction and interested in joining Del Amo through our summer internship program.

 

Each summer we hire three to six interns, with our interview process usually beginning in the fall prior, at college fairs and information sessions.

 

Our internship program features three dynamic rotations, designed to give students comprehensive exposure to our company, our team, and the construction process. In the first rotation, you’ll be based in our office, working with our experienced estimating team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in performing takeoffs, reading plans, and understanding design development. The second and third rotations take place on-site, where you’ll be embedded with a full project team. Here, you’ll collaborate closely with our Superintendents, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers—right in the center of the construction activity. Throughout each rotation, you’ll work side by side with dedicated mentors, fully immersing yourself in the day-to-day operations and gaining a deep understanding of each phase of the project.

We will expand your knowledge with the trades and construction processes, but also with different construction software, an increasingly important part of the industry. Del Amo pays for interns to obtain their Cal OSHA 10 certification and Procore certification.

 

Throughout the summer, we host a variety of Intern events, catering to the interests of the Interns. During previous summers, we have coordinated happy hours, dinners, field trip days to tour different job sites, golf outings, and Q&As with our employees and the leadership team.
