Cathedral High School
This new type V-1hour, 2-story, 48,000-square-foot all boys Catholic school building includes restrooms, locker rooms, administration, science, and laboratory classrooms. Phase II calls for a type III-1 hour, 2-story, 26,300-square-foot gymnasium and exterior football field bleacher system. Unique elements of the project include salvaging the materials from the old gymnasium built in 1925 and incorporating it into the new structure. The old gymnasium floor is re-worked in the design of the administrative offices. The old gymnasium walls were polished to be reused throughout the building and the old scoreboard is kept as an ornamental piece in the Brother Bertram Coleman FSC Lobby. When turned on the score reads: Visitors 19 and Home 25 to commemorate the year the school opened.
